The Pokédex is expanding!
On Friday, Nintendo Co. Ltd. and The Pokémon Company International formally announced that the Fairy-Rock type Diancie will be the 719th Pokémon to be added to the ever-expanding (fingers crossed) Pokédex.
Diancie will also be making an appearance in the upcoming animated film The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie, which will be released in Japan theatres later this year.
“Diancie is an extremely rare Mythical Pokémon, a special Pokémon that cannot be found during normal gameplay,” The Pokémon company said in a press release.
According to the release, Diancie boasts the greatest beauty in the Pokémon world with a body that glitters pink to “captivate the hearts of many”. As well, Diancie can produce diamonds by simply compressing the air between its hands. This ability allows her to attack enemies and simultaneously ruin the Swiss economy.Details on how players can get their own Diancie have yet to be revealed, but many hope that the mythical creature will become available through the game’s Mystery Gift option.
